April 2002

April 27th
Southall Reserves completed their Middlesex County League season in a disastrous way when they were thrashed 8-0 at bottom club Broadfields United Reserves.
If Broadfields United Reserves win their final match at home to Neasden 2000 Reserves then Southall Reserves will finish bottom of their league.


April 22nd
Southall went out of the Middlesex Charity Cup when they lost 1-0  away to Enfield Town.

April 21st
Although Southall have never played Enfield Town before they have faced the original Enfield club on five previous occasions in the Middlesex Charity Cup.

April 20th
A brace of goals from Trevor Brooker and one from Lonyo Ifale gave Southall a comfortable 3-0 home victory over Feltham.

Southall Reserves entertained London Tigers in their Middlesex County League fixture and narrowly lost 4-3.


April 17th
Southall overcame the handicap of being reduced to nine players to record a hard fought 1-0 victory over Merstham.

April 13th
Southall visited the Queen Street ground of Horsham Football Club to play Withdean 2000 and were easily defeated 4-1.
The home side took a three goal lead within the first thirty minutes and created a large number of chances which were wasted. However  Southall managed to pull one back before half time with a headed goal from Lonyo Ifale. 
The second half saw no improvement in performance and Withdean sealed the match with a fourth goal in the 78th minute.
Southall Reserves lost by the only goal of the game at home to Hanworth Villa Reserves.


April 12th

April 9th
Southall got back  to winning ways when they travelled to Scours Lane to play Reading Town.
They returned with a 3-2 victory, courtesy of a Trevor Booker hat- trick, which completed the double over Reading Town following a 4-0 home victory on September 11th.
This result moves Southall into seventh place.

April 6th
Southall's unbeaten run came to an end when they were beaten 3-2 at home by lowly Cobham.
Marvin Elliot gave Southall the lead after 18 minutes but the visitors equalised eight minutes later. Five minutes into the second half Trevor Brooker scored Southall's 100th goal of the season to give the home side the lead.
Cobham equalised in the 66th minutes after a mistake by Henry. Worse was to follow for the Southall goal keeper when he was sent off in the 81st minutes for verbal abuse.
Cobham secured all three points with a winning goal in the last minute of the game.

The Middlesex Charity Cup match against Enfield Town has now been switched to Enfield Town. 
The match will take place on Monday April 22nd  kick off 7.45 pm, at Brimsdown Rovers FC,  where Enfield Town play their home fixtures.
Southall Reserves lost 2-0 away to AC Richmond in the Middlesex County League.


April 3rd
Southall moved into the last eight of the Middlesex Charity Cup with a 2-0 win over Hanwell Town at Reynolds Field.
Southall  had the majority of the possession in the first half but failed to create many clear cut chances and the half ended without score.
Trevor Brooker opened the scoring in the second half with a tap in from an Andre Robinson cross. Southall began to control the game and a goal from Steve Macenzie near the end of the game secured the victory for the visitors.
Southall now entertain Essex Senior League side Enfield Town in the next round.

1st
Southall completed the double over Viking Greenford when they beat them 5-1 at Avenue Park.
Viking Greenford took the lead after 10 minutes but Southall quickly hit back through Robinson and went into the interval level at 1-1.
The second half saw Southall dominate the game and three further goals from Robinson and one from O'Sullivan saw Southall extend their unbeaten run to seven matches. 
One has to go back to the 1993-1994 season to find the last example of such an unbeaten run.
