December 20th
Southall's ambition of a top three finish took a nasty blow when they surprisingly lost 1-0 at home to lowly placed Merstham.
Despite having the majority of the possession and chances Southall were unable to find the net. They found Merstham goalkeeper Colin Harris in tremendous form and he was rightly awarded Man of the Match. The only goal of the game came in the 66th minute when a Sullivan free kick was badly misjudged by Samba in the Southall goal.

Director of Football Terry Fenwick had this to say following the match:
This was a very disappointing result in a game that we took too lightly. After dominating the early stages of the game and squandering a number of good chances we found ourselves later in the game bogged down and rushing to get the all important break through. Merstham having defended for large periods of the game got their break from a free kick that was very badly misjudged by Samba. A good point for youngsters is to remember to get your hands to the ball  - don't use your feet.
I thought that the Merstham keeper today was outstanding . For us Andre Robinson showed glimpses of quality although our general performance was under par and our finishing frantic and without control.
We should not be squandering points against teams like Merstham as player for player we have a much stronger squad.
