Southall's hope for any silverware this season came to an end when they lost 3-2 away to Ash United in the Quarter Final of the Premier Division Challenge Cup.
Southall dominated the early part of the match and went ahead after 21 minutes with an Andre Robinson shot from the edge of the penalty area. Ash equalised on the half hour but Phil Eagle put Southall ahead just before half time with a left foot shot from outside the area. Southall went in at half time with a deserved 2-1 lead after clearly being the better side.
The second half was a different story. Ash United equalised three minutes into the half and scored their third goal eleven minutes later. The following article has appeared in today's edition of the Ealing Times.

Southall Aim To Come Home

SOUTHALL FC could be playing their home matches back in Ealing Borough next season, thanks to a local London soccer academy.
The Ealing club has been forced to groundshare with the likes of Tring Town, Harefield United, Yeading, and now Chalfont St Peter since the closure of the club's Western Road ground 1992.
But the intervention of Joseph De Graph of the London Soccer Academy (LSA) means Southall could be back in the borough at Spikes Bridge Park, after the LSA and the club agreed in principle to embark on a joint venture.
De Graf said: "There's every chance that Southall FC could be playing their home matches back in town next season."
And Amar Mehli, Southall's development manager, can now see light at the end of the tunnel, with a realistic prospect of playing Ryman League football again in 18 months time.
Spikes Bridge Park, a dilapidated council site which has been targeted as a haven for drug abuse and petty crime for years, is set to be given a facelift, with plans already afoot to turn the run down parkland into a new facility of sporting excellence and opportunity.
De Graph, whose soccer academy beat off stiff competition from Golds Gym, The Asian Health Agency and Southall to acquire the 25-year lease for Spikes Bridge Park said: "Even before the council made its decision, we wrote to it stating our intention to work with Southall.
"It's all been done properly and above board, and the council has encouraged the on-going arrangement between both parties."
Reports have confirmed that discussions between the LSA and Southall are now in the advanced stages of negotiation, with both parties set to merge together to have an equal shareholding and obligation of a newly formed company to run the 19.35 acre council site.
De Graph said: "We are proposing that the main pavilion be moved closer to the athletics track and essentially be rebuilt to entertain a gymnasium and on-site health and fitness facilities. There will also be a small pool designed to cater for sports rehabilitation."
Further proposals to be considered by the group is for a 300-seated area to be offset from the main building, where the club is believed to be in consultation with a specialist lighting company to overhaul the floodlighting around the track area.
De Graph said: "We are opting for a new type of lighting which reduces light spillage considerably.
"Therefore, the beam of light you get is specific to the area that it is aimed. Additionally, we are looking to have six to eight pillions functional, but aim to utilise the existing four pillions already there, as no planning permission is required to have those renovated.
"The council is really very helpful, and it's in our hands now to firm up our proposals. The council hasn't given us a deadline, but we're giving ourselves a deadline to make this happen as quickly as possible.
