Andy Fitzsimons, the Southall FC PR Manager/Club Secretary,  has issued this statement concerning the proposed development of the Glade Lane site:

Following a  Cabinet Committee meeting, in public,  on Tuesday evening at Ealing Town Hall, it was decided by the relevant councillors that Southall Town FC should be recommended for the 5.7 acre lease of Glade Lane.

The Councillors decided that Southall Town's financial bid was far greater than that of Southall FC, despite the fact that Southall Town FC only received 2 points more than Southall FC on their financial viability within their respected proposal.
*Southall receiving 8/20, Southall Town 10/20 (still only 50%)

Given the grading for both parties on this matter, I feel it is hardly a justifiable statement when the leader of the council John Cudmore himself said:
"We the cabinet feel that Southall Town's bid (financial) is far superior than that of Southall FC"

As a direct response to this, I would like to ask Mr Cudmore, how 2 points difference in the evaluation makes a bid far superior..? What if you scored 5, would that be 'average'?  What would be said if you received full mark (20/20)..?

Southall FC were also marked down for the Community work and involvement, receiving 12/20, with Southall Town gaining 14/20. To this very day I would like to know how the cabinet members address community work?
Southall for the past 5-6 months before the proposal was even handed in, have been providing children at the Guru Nanak Sikh School with coaching (free of charge) as part of their after school activity.  This is done on a weekly basis, and has been extremely
successful.
I myself have already played a bid part in helping Featherstone School look to try and obtain a £1.5 million lottery grant, in addition to linking up with the school for future development to help them with their own sporting activities, both during school
hours and outside.  Other local football clubs have also been approached in the same matter.

Community work is actually about getting involved with the community, aiding various events and organisations/schools.  So for a club which is not based within the community like ours, we have already exceeded all expectations of a club at our  level.

The matter does not rest here I can assure you, and to our supporters: I would like to thank you all for your support over the years, and in respect of that I would like to point out that this does not mean the end of Southall FC . Not by a long way!

The decision about Glade Lane has already hit the local press. This is what the on-line newspaper This is Ealing had to say about the matter.
