July 24th
Southall begin their
Combined Counties League campaign on Saturday August 18th when
they play host to champions Cove. They then visit Raynes Park Vale
on Tuesday August 21st.
July 10th
Southall and Chalfont St
Peter have agreed a ground sharing agreement for the coming season
which also includes training facilities.
The Cardinal Ealing Youth League will not run during the 2001-2002
season due to a lack of interest from local clubs with the result
that Southall will not field a Youth Team this season.
July 6th
Southall's PR Manager and
Secretary Andy Fitzsimons has quit the club.

June 20th
The A.G.M. of Southall
Football Club was held at the Master Robert Hotel in west London.
Present were Messrs. S. Hasnain, B. Gill, A. Fitzsimons, A. Mehli,
B. Sangha, A. Phillips, D. Ombesh and G. Harrison.
The season just finished was reviewed and plans for the
forthcoming season were discussed. It is hoped that an
announcement about a ground sharing arrangement will be made
shortly.
June 6th
Today is the 59th anniversary of a
match played in 1942 against Edgware Town. In the game played at
Western Road Southall were victors 6-2 to win the Southall
Hospital Cup. This is the latest recorded date for the final game
of the season.
May 30th
On this day in 1942
Southall played Walthamstow Avenue at Underhill in the final of
the Herts & Middlesex League Challenge Cup.
Southall lost 1-0.
May 29th
Southall Youth lost their
final game of the season when they lost 4-0 at home to Broadwater
United.
This result means that Southall finished in third position behind
champions Forest United and Broadwater United.
May 26th
Southall Reserves completed
their season with a 2-0 defeat away to Neasden 2000 Reserves.
Reserve Team Manager Asher
Phillips had this to say about the performance:
We had three or four good chances in the first half to win the
game, but again we didn't take our chances !
May 23rd
On this day in 1945 Southall
defeated Hounslow 4-2 at Denbigh Road to win the Hounslow Hospital
Cup.
Earlier, on May 12th, Southall had drawn 3-3 at Western Road
with a QPR XI in the Southall Hospital Cup.
May 15th

May 14th
Southall concluded their
first season in the Combined Counties League with a disappointing
2-1 defeat away to Viking Greenford. Southall fell behind as early
as the 10th minute of the match and although O'Sullivan equalised
from the penalty spot late into the second half Viking grabbed the
winner three minutes later.
Marlon Antonie broke his left leg in the incident which gave
Southall the penalty. He will be out of action for at least three
months.
May 13th
Southall Youth Team drew 1-1
in both matches played against top of the table Forest United.
May 12th
Southall Reserves lost their
penultimate league match when they were defeated 5-1 by Pinner
Albion Seniors in a game played at Edgware Football Club.
May 10th
Southall stretched their
unbeaten run to six matches with a 2-0 home win over Walton
Casuals.
May 9th
A goal ten minutes from time by
Marlon Antonie gave Southall a share of the points when they drew
1-1 at home against Chessington United.
May 8th
The report of the Sandhurst Town

May 7th
Two goals from Andre Robinson and
one from Tony May were enough to give Southall a 3-1 victory over
Sandhurst Town at Mill Meadow. This was Southall fourth
consecutive victory. This was last achieved in 1995 with victories
over Cove, Epsom & Ewell, Tring Town and Flackwell
Heath.
May 5th
Southall Reserves suffered a heavy
7-2 defeat at home to Neasden 2000 Reserves.

May 4th

May 3rd
Southall won for the third in a
week when they travelled to Reading Town and defeated their hosts
4-0. Goals from Barret, Robinson, an own goal and a penalty by
O'Sullivan gave Southall all three points.
This was the third consecutive clean sheet which was last achieved
in April 1994 when Southall were members of Isthmian League
Division Three. At that time they had a 2-0 away win over
Flackwell Heath, a 0-0 draw at home to Tring Town followed by a
6-0 home victory against Camberley Town.
May 2nd
The Combined Counties League match
at home to Sandhurst Town on Monday May 7th will kick off at 12
noon.
May 1st
Southall made it two wins in a row when they beat
Farnham Town 8-0 at Mill Meadow. After an even first half in which
Southall missed a penalty and scored through a deflected shot,
four goals from Marvin Rufus, two from Michael Spence and one from
Dan Twin gave Southall victory.
