November 29th
125 years ago today Southall visited  F.A. Cup holders Wanderers in Round Two  of the F.A. Cup.
Southall had reached this round by virtue of a walk over against Old Wykehamists who scratched from the competition at the First Round stage.
Southall were heavily defeated by Wanderers but there is some doubt over the actual score.
Tony Brown's "The F.A. Cup Complete Results" gives the score as 6-0 to the Wanderers whilst the 1877 edition of the Football Annual gives the score as 6-1 to the Wanderers. The latter score is also supported by Caxton's Book of Association Football which was published in the early 1900's.
This was to be Southall's last game in the competition until the 1901-1902 season when they  travelled to west London neighbours Shepherds Bush in the First Qualifying Round losing 4-5.
Wanderers went onto retain the F.A. Cup in the 1876-1877 season with a  2-1 victory after extra time over Oxford University.

November 24th
Southall made it five games without a win when they drew 1-1 at home to Walton Casuals.
In a game in which Southall promised much but produced little  Steve Macenzie opened the scoring midway through the first half. The home side finished the half well on top both in terms of  possession and chances created.
The second half began in much the same way and the turning point of the game came when Shane O'Sullivan failed again to convert a penalty. This seemed to give Walton Casuals hope and they equalised with about 15 minutes of the game remaining leaving Southall with just one home victory in all competitions this season.
Southall Reserves suffered another heavy defeat in their latest Middlesex County League game when they lost 8-2 at home to league leaders Stonewall FC.

November 17th
Southall went out of their fourth and final cup competition of the season when they lost 1-0 away to Godalming and Guildford in Round Two of the Combined Counties Premier Division Cup.
Southall fell behind as early as the fifth minute when Lydon punished a defensive failure to adequately clear the ball.
Southall dominated most of the remainder of the game but were guilty of squandering many clear cut chances which if taken would have resulted in an emphatic victory. Southall did get the ball in the net in the fourth minute of added time but this was ruled out for offside.
Southall are  now left to concentrate on obtaining a good league position.
Southall Reserves suffered a heavy 7-1 defeat when they visited Neasden 2000 Reserves in a Middlesex County League fixture.

November 13th
Southall travelled into Surrey to face Merstham and returned home pointless following a 3-1 defeat.
Southall went behind early in the game and after hitting the woodwork on the half hour found themselves further behind following a swift counter attack by the home side.
The second half saw Southall step up the pace and they  were rewarded when Tony Gordon headed home on the hour. Southall were unable to turn possession into scoring chances and the home team sealed the game with a late third goal.

November 10th
Southall Reserves drew their latest game in the Senior Division of the Middlesex County League. AC Richmond were the visitors and the game ended with the score 2-2.

November 9th
100 years ago today Southall visited West End in the Second Round of the Middlesex Senior Cup but unlike the current team they were victorious by the score of 5-0.

November 7th
Southall went out of the Middlesex Senior Cup at the first stage when they lost 4-2 to Feltham at the Feltham Arena.
Feltham were reduced to ten men early in the first half and Southall took advantage of this and created many chances on goal. They were rewarded with a 2-1 lead at half time.
The second half was a different story. O'Sullivan missed a penalty which would have given  Southall a 3-1 lead and the team play disintegrated which allowed Feltham back into the game. The home side punished this inept display and went on  to win the game 4-2.

November 3rd
Southall played their first ever match against Withdean 2000 and drew the game 1-1.
Southall went ahead after 21 minutes when Steve Macenzie headed home a  Shane O'Sullivan corner. The visitors equalised in the 80th and although Withdean were reduced to ten men shortly afterwards Southall were unable to add to their score.
A report of the Withdean 2000 match written by Steve Cullen is now on the web site.
Southall Reserves played Hendon Reserves in the Middlesex County F.A. Premier Cup. As expected Hendon Reserves, who play in the Premier Division of the Suburban League, proved too strong for Southall Reserves and won the game 4-2.
