The away fixture at Merstham which was
postponed on October 9th has been rescheduled for Tuesday November
13th.

Southall's poor home form continued with a
3-1 defeat by Westfield. After a bright start by Southall a Tony
Macenzie strike after 13 minutes gave the home side the lead. The
visitors equalised after 27 minutes through Chilton after the home
side had twice failed to clear the ball.
The second half saw both sides create chances and although
Southall had the ball in the net twice more, both attempts were
ruled to be offside.
Westfield took the lead in the 66th minute through Flynn and made
the game safe in the 88th minute with a goal from Mercer.
Southall had Tony Macenzie sent off three minutes from time.

Further to the news that the Chalfont St
Peter ground has been closed by the Ryman League the web master
has been contacted by the Fixtures Secretary of the Combined
Counties League. His message was as follows:
The Combined Counties League has become aware of the action
taken by the Ryman League to close the ground at Chalfont and will
undertake its own inspection shortly.
At this moment though Southall have not been banned by the
Combined Counties from playing at the ground. I will advise
further information as and when there is any.
The web master is indebted to the Combined Counties League for
supplying this information.
October 10th
The web master has been contacted
by the former official of Southall Football Club to say that the
outstanding money that was due to him has now been received. This
should mean that the immediate threat of suspension has now been
lifted.
Information has been received that the Chalfont St Peter ground
has been closed by the Ryman Football League following a recent
inspection. It is hoped that this will not affect Southall's
Combined Counties League fixtures although you are advised to
check the web site before travelling to any matches.
October 9th
The away match at Merstham
was postponed due to a
waterlogged pitch.
Southall Football Club has
received notice from the Middlesex County Football Association (M.C.F.A)
that the amount of money which is still owed to a former official
of the club must be received in cash by the M.C.F.A. by noon on
Friday October 12th.
Failure to do this
will result in the suspension of the club, its officials and
players from participation in football until that amount of money
is paid.
This is an extremely serious situation which threatens the survival of
Southall Football Club after 130 years of playing history.
Supporters of Southall who are concerned about the situation
are invited to contribute to the ongoing discussion on the Message
Board.
They can also make their views known directly to the officials of
Southall Football Club by contacting them on the telephone
numbers shown at the top right of this page.
