In the absence of any details from Southall Football Club the following match report is taken from the Merstham web site:

Merstham bounce back from their disappointing exit from the Surrey Senior Cup with a deserved win over current title challengers Southall. Both teams were unbeaten up until this fixture and after a very close first half it looked as though that may continue. The half time team 'talk' seemed to make the difference however as Merstham played the second 45 with much more determination. In fact it took just 10 minutes for Merstham to take the lead as Shane Franklin headed the ball home from a Rob Hill cross. More chances fell to Merstham as they took confidence from the lead whilst Southall looked somewhat up against it. In the end, lucky to have not conceded more goals, a frustrated Southall, became more physical as a card-happy ref went into double figures with bookings. The visitors saw 2 players dismissed, including their keeper with 2nd yellows during this scrappy last 15 but Merstham could not take advantage of numbers and increase their lead. A 1-0 win for Merstham as they remain the last unbeaten team in this league.

The following is taken from the Farnham Town web site:

Farnham lost 5 - 1 to Southall. Farnham played good football in the first 25 minutes with Dave Ocquay scoring the goal. But then Southall hit 5 to pick up three points.

 October 15th

Southall moved into second place in the Cherry Red Records Combined Counties League with a worthy 3-0 win over third placed Godalming Town.

There seemed little to choose between the two sides in the first quarter of the match with the visitors perhaps looking slightly more threatening than Southall. The deadlock was broken after 28 minutes with a superb move that showed how effective a quick counter attack can be.

Southall won possession on the left hand side of their own penalty area. Shane O'Sullivan released the ball to Darren Wallace who began to attack down the left hand side before releasing a superb cross field ball to Donal O'Sullivan. The Southall leading scorer then crossed from the right to the far post where Leon Fisher was at hand to head home past Andy Brookes.

Six minutes later Southall went two ahead. Fine individual skill from Leon Fisher took the ball from 25 yards out before slotting home from ten yards.

Southall began to look very comfortable and under little pressure from the visitors but were unable to add to their tally  before half time.

After the interval the game began to lose its vitality and at times the play became scrappy and unadventurous. However, Southall created enough chances in the half to put the game well beyond the reach of Godalming Town.

On the hour Southall had a goal ruled out for offside by referee Mr Wright and with a quarter of an hour to go Byron Glasgow fed the ball to Donal O'Sullivan whose ferocious strike smashed against the Godalming cross bar and to safety.

With one minute of normal time remaining Southall scored their third and final goal of the game. Once again the potent partnership of Leon Fisher and Donal O'Sullivan was involved. This time it was the turn of Fisher to find O'Sullivan who had the relatively easy task to tap home from six yards.

As the game went into injury time Donal O'Sullivan came within inches of making it four and Jason Hartles was called into rare serious action with a fine save from James Blasson.

This was a good performance by the whole team with a resolute steady defence and a hard working skilful midfield adding to the potent fire power of Fisher and O'Sullivan.

 October 11th

Southall won through to Round Three of the E1 Records Premier Challenge Cup with a 2-1 win over Horley Town.

Southall soon found themselves behind against a strong Horley side but prevented the home side from adding further to their score in the first  half. After the interval Southall quickly equalised with a goal from Donal O'Sullivan after 46 minutes.  Pressure on the Horley goal was rewarded with a second goal from Donal O'Sullivan ten minutes from time.

Southall are now at home to Sandhurst Town in Round Three of the competition.

The Middlesex Senior Cup First Round match away to Enfield Town has been arranged for Tuesday November 15th, kick off at 7.45 pm.

 October 4th

Southall lost their 100% record when they drew 2-2 away to Cove.

Traffic delays meant that the Southall team arrived shortly before kick off and as a result the team was  unprepared and disorganised for the first part of the match. Cove took full advantage of this and sped into a 2-0 lead by the interval.

The second half saw Southall take the upper hand and press for a breakthrough. This came after 65 minutes when Leon Fisher was upended in the penalty area. A penalty was awarded and Leon Dussard made no mistake from the spot. Ten minutes later the score was level. Fisher was again fouled in the box and as before Leon Dussard successfully converted the penalty.

The match saw no further scoring and the record breaking run of victories at the start of a league season came to an end.

 October 2nd

Donal O'Sullivan has been named as the Southall Player of the Month for September.

 October 1st

Two goals from the O'Sullivan brothers helped Southall maintain their record breaking 100% start to this season's  league campaign with a 2-1 win away to North Greenford  United.

Southall were again weakened without  Steve Macenzie, Byron Glasgow, Chris Barrett, Craig Worrall and Alan Johnson but welcomed back Jason Hartles in goal. Leon Dussard had to be utilised as centre back.

The game was only three minutes old when Leon Fisher was fouled in the penalty area. Shane O'Sullivan made no mistake with the resultant penalty to give Southall an early lead. Southall began to take control of the game and despite good possession the visitors were unable to add to their tally.

The second half continued in much the same vein as the first. Southall were again guilty of that one pass too many when a shot at goal may well have proved fruitful. A two goal cushion was achieved after 72 minutes when Donal O'Sullivan rounded off a first class move. Good one touch football saw the ball worked from Andre Robinson to Shane O'Sullivan and then to Leon Fisher who produced a superb cross for Donal O'Sullivan to head firmly home.

Six minutes later North Greenford were right back in it. with Lukeman heading the ball past Hartles. Encouraged by this success the home side pressed very hard for an equaliser but the Southall team remained resolute and the game ended without any further score.
